Or that the writer Gotthold Ephraim Lessing spent the last years of his life in Wolfenbüttel? No? Wolfenbüttel was the residence of the Guelph dukes for over three centuries. The historical center with the world-renowned Duke August’s Library, Lessing’s house and the first Protestant-built church is much as it was in Guelph days.
